This Sunday, when the parade passes by, Walter Woods won’t be watching — he’ll be in it. As this year’s grand marshal of the 40th annual Wellesley Veterans’ Day Parade, he’s earned the title and the ride. Forty years ago, in 1968, at the request of the Wellesley Board of Selectmen, he became the first chairman of the “big parade” and held the position for seven years.
